Bruxelles et Mai 1968
As a place for the conservation and exploitation of the municipal archive collections, the mission of the Archives of the City of Brussels is to promote the documents it conserves and make them available to the public. For this anniversary year, it presents documents that help to highlight and illustrate the 1960s and, in particular, the events of May 1968. The project Brussels and May 1968 aims to scan and compile on a web page varied documentary sources (posters, photos, press cuttings, audio interviews, etc.), placing them on a timeline in order to offer an overview of the events in Brussels, Belgium and around the world during this turbulent period. Furthermore, in 2018, the urban and Brussels history review Cahiers bruxellois, published every year by the Archives, is dedicated to protest in all its forms. The articles will also be accessible online via the Cairn digital platform (www.cairn.info).
