Contredanse - La danse est-elle engagée ?

Contredanse is a association which aims to support choreographic creation. In 2018, Contredanse questions the subversive scope of gestures through two proposals. The 1968-2018 round table: 50 gestures for expressing protest, considers the influence of May 1968 on choreographic practices in Brussels and Belgium, but also questions the impact of other major protest movements in the world of dance. Contredanse also publishes a digital magazine which considers the political commitment of dance and asks the questions of how this quintessential non-verbal art form can become a militant declaration.
